Through a Child of Love
Genre: Poetry
I am a child of love,
a passionate affection for another,
a never-failing perfection in one’s heart.
I am patient and kind,
a tender feeling of joy that radiates in all its exquisiteness.
An endurance of the soul which cannot contain itself.
An imitation of unyielding will power and strength.
I rejoice with a passion, for I do not rejoice in wrong doing, but in truth,
A gleaming ray of sunlight, my fever, my passion.
I am forever and always.
Rays of fever constantly collide with my fortitude:
the struggle between lust and love, right and wrong,
the resonant melody from my lips, the unquenching flood waters of my eyes.
I am an echo in eternity, a shooting star, still in the moment:
I guide my life with that intense infatuation.
I am not envious or boastful. Envy surrounds me, but I turn away.
I am not arrogant or rude. Arrogance tries to devour me, but I saunter from it.
I am not irritable or resentful. Resent is thrown at me, but I push through.
I am love. I believe in all things for I abide with faith and hope. But I am greater,
a never-ending, perfection in one’s heart.
