LIGHTS is entered in a Best Forum of the Year competition. Your votes determine the winner, and we have some tough competition. So we can really use as many votes as we can get.
As my lovely visitors<333333 I would hope that you guys can do me a quick favor and vote for LIGHTS in the competition. Instructions on how to vote can be found here: [link]
Please comment below with the username you voted with (so that I can keep track of how many votes we have). At the end of the competition if we win I may send you guys an exclusive never-released texture pack! Make sure you provide a valid email. =]
Thanks in advance<333
I know some older versions of FF and IE display the coding wrong on this site. For example, the content moves to the bottom of the sidebar which is a no-no. So I’m starting to work on a new design. Also, I delete those ads because they weren’t very profitable considering the number of impressions I generate on the site. I’ll be looking for a better ads company soon. I’m sure a bunch of your were getting annoyed by the pop ups and such!
Anyway, the main reason for this entry to to reply to this comment I received on my tagboard from Kipper.
“What exactly is the point of having a website, when all of your content is on a forum. It takes the fun out of it.. because to use something I have to go sign up for something I don’t want to. just saying.”
I totally understand that you’re not used to something different than the usual livejournal status quo. You come across a texture community or journal, you click the link to download it, and VOILA you have yourself a set of textures that were most likely cropped from some free stock site, deviant art, or one of those ffffound.com sites. But then you come across my resources and you’re like WTF when they’re not handed over to you in a perfectly-wrapped ZIP file with a shiny bow on top at the snap of a finger.
The purpose of FAUXISM.org is for my blog, to showcase my portfolio, and to offer resources and tutorials for graphic makers. All of my content is NOT on the forum. The majority of my content is here. The only content hosted on the forum is my premium HQ/HR resources. And the only reason I even link the resources here is to provide visitors with quick previews of the resources I offer on the forum. You see what you like, you click it, and you go directly there to download instead of clicking through 3904834 threads until you find what you like.
Signing up on LIGHTS is no different than signing up on sxc.hu, or joining LJ and then joining the specific community to view the posts, or even friending someone to view their work. Yet no one seems to be opposed to that. So why is registering on LIGHTS any different? It’s a one-time requirement that literally take 30 seconds, and you have access to all the resources on the forum.
You obviously liked my resource previews enough to come here. But complaining about something that you have no right to is just silly. No one has to make you a damn thing and then you go and complain. I don’t have to share my resources with anyone, but I do. I’m not obligated to offer them in a specific way. And I have no obligation to you or anyone else when it comes to my resources.
Don’t worry, I’m not directing this at you. But more so at all the people who have complained in the past.
No one is forcing you to join the forum. If you don’t want to then that’s perfectly fine with me. But don’t waste your time complaining about it because it takes even more time to do that than actually registering and downloading all the sets you want LOL.
All I can say is that you’d be missing out on some great high quality high resolution textures, brushes, and other resources.
Wow I can’t believe I actually converted everything to WP! It still amazes me. I used to be strongly against WP because of its complexity. I just did not have time to learn how to customize it. But it turned out a lot easier than I had thought, to be honest. I really like it so far and I hope I won’t have anymore spamming/hacking issues. =]
I think the most important change is that I changed ALL of my resources to be exclusive. Meaning they are only available on LIGHTS. So register today if you’re not already a member!
I still have a lot to upload though. The only sections that are finished are icon tutorials and icon textures. I’m in the process of adding a few more large texture sets. And then I need to tackle converting ALL of my brushes. That’s going to be a pain in the ass for sure since there are over 100 sets. >.< What did I get myself into? Haha oh well, it will be worth it.
I haven't had a chance to really make any graphics. I just don't have time with college, and the forum has been super busy with tons of fun activities. But here are a couple of my most recent resources.
If you stumble across any broken links, not found pages, or any errors please let me know. Oh and I’m also looking for affiliates. Feel free to apply if you’re interested! Toodles ^__^
